With the help of the SimplePress plugin, I’ve set up a quick’n’easy forum for the comic. Perfect for anyone who wants to have longer discussions than you get on Facebook and/or comments to individual pages.
You don’t need an account to post; all you need is an email address, basic math skills (to answer the anti-spam question), and something to say. Give it a try!
There’s a pairing art meme I’d like to do. Specifically, I’d like to do it with But I’m A Cat Person pairings. Trouble is, I’m not sure which.
So here’s your chance, readers: name the pairings you’d like to see, and I will draw fanservice of them. Whether or not they’re ever actually going to become canon.
Yuri, yaoi, het, and whatever-it-is-when-Timothy/Camellia-is-involved are all accepted! Anything is fair game, no matter how cracky. And feel free to list as many as you want. If there are too many requests to fit in the meme (it only has ten boxes), I’ll draw at least one for each of the first ten commenters.
Have at it ^_^
The print version of issue 2 will be available once I’ve had a chance to check over the proof copies. If you want an early peek at the bonus material, or just don’t like the smell of paper, the ebook is out now!
As with issue 1, it’s a full color PDF, 32 pages. Not only that, the ebooks are now being sold directly through PayPal, where the fees are slightly lower — which means I can offer this to you for US$0.99 and make almost the same profit.
Click the following button to buy the ebook, and keep an eye out for the print version!
Four people have claimed free exclusive sketches for the back of Issue 2…but two of them have asked for scenes that would spoil Issue 3. (And one of them still hasn’t worked out what he wants. Somehow I suspect he’s overthinking it.)
The spoilery sketches are getting drawn, but will be put in issue 3. Which means I may as well make that issue’s last two sketch slots available to everyone, along with the two remaining for Issue 2.
In other words, if you want to claim a sketch, here’s what’s still up for grabs:
- Sketches that DO NOT SPOIL Chapter 3: Two
- Sketches that spoil merrily away: Two
Same rules as before apply.
In the meantime, the current round of fundraising to put all this together is still ongoing, with fabulous prizes for anyone who donates before September 30. And remember issue 1? It’s now up on Amazon. So please, if you pick it up, go there and leave a review!
Now that issue #1 is in print, it’s time to start thinking about issue #2. Specifically, bonus material. Even more specifically, the extra sketches in the back.
In that spirit, the first four people to reply to this post will get a free custom sketch. It will be emailed personally to you, and not made available to anyone else in the world, except those discerning, intelligent, sexy people who who purchase issue #2.
Same rules as last time:
- The sketch has to be BICP-related. Crossovers are allowed; they’ll count as parody, so they won’t violate copyright law.
- No porn. My grandmother is planning on buying this (assuming she can figure out how to navigate Lulu, anyway).
- Don’t ask for spoilers of future events. In fact, please don’t ask for things that were revealed in chapter 3, either. Keep it to chapters 1 and 2.
As usual, general commissions are also open.
Ask away!
Four Three Two One slot still available!
All right, folks, this is it: we’re officially in the “asking for money” stage.
If you’ve been wondering about the status of the print version of issue 1, I don’t blame you–I haven’t done a great job of keeping you up to date. Apologies!
The short version is, I have a proof copy, but it has some issues which need to be fine-tuned before it’s high-quality enough to sell. I hope issues 2 and 3 will come together more quickly, but it’s still going to take time…and money.
That’s where the fundraising comes in. I’m trying my hand at raising funds through Kickstarter, a site that helps creators and innovators collect donations for a wide variety of projects. If the funding goal isn’t met in the next 30 days, I get nothing…but if it is, not only do I get the money, donors get all kinds of awesome rewards, including:
• Ebooks and print issues
• Custom artwork
• Original lineart from BICP pages
• Thanks in print
• Thanks in a video, starring myself and a real live cat
• Fame and glory
At the highest level of donation, you get…one spoiler. Seriously. Ask me any question about where the comic is going, and I’ll give you a straight answer. No waffling, no creative nonanswers, no misdirection. In fact, if the honest truth is “I haven’t decided yet”? I’ll let you pick a new question.
But none of this will come through unless the project is fully funded.
So please, support it as far as you can, pass the link around, and wish me luck!
Thanks to a missed bus, my comic buffer has run out and I’m not yet able to scan the next page. If all goes well, you’ll be seeing it by tomorrow. (Knock wood.)
Today’s penance art comes to you courtesy of DollDivine & DracheaRannak’s Sailor Senshi maker:
For Otakon attendees, BICP readers are also welcome at the Shine fan meetup! 5:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, by the windows across from the LARP room.
I’ll also be wandering around the convention in general, dressed as Integra, with a hellhound — and, new this year, a plush Cybele — in tow.
