Spoiler alert: they can “fight” with non-physical contact, and will use it to clever advantage later.
…A game that requires equipment, like a board+pieces or wickets+balls, might be hard to pull off. Although they never do test this in the comic: if one Being specifically challenged another to a game of cricket, would Meggido automatically manifest a cricket pitch in response? (And if so, what would it do for a game of Final Fantasy XV?)
Jany: Could we agree to do the whole battle in a totally different way? It’s called the Game, right? Can we have them fight via Monopoly? Cricket?
Bianca: If that’s possible and you never told me . . .
Patrick: In all the experiments I was in, we needed physical or magical contact.
But I didn’t try everything. You can do more tests if you want.
Jany: N-no, I guess that’s okay. Kara Lynn, how do we start this . . . ?
Kara Lynn: Like this: I challenge you — energy attacks and beast forms only.
Patrick: I accept!
Jany: . . . Whoa. I knew we would go somewhere else, but I didn’t know it would be gorgeous!
… isn’t main problem with cricket that it’s not game for just two people?
