Koch brothersThose weren’t specifically intended to be the Koch brothers in that last panel — it definitely wasn’t them in the “old guys in suits” reference I used — but in retrospect, they do have kind of the same vibe.

Composition is very hit-or-miss in this page. Cohen at the window, framed by the posts/wainscoting against the sunset sky? Good! Made the effort to design some decorations for the cabinet in the background, and then arranged the shot so Cohen was standing in front of most of them? Not so good.

…in fact, it’s bugging me enough that I’m redoing it for the Master’s Edition, even though it means figuring out what the heck I was doing with the design of that weird art-deco lamp.

Evening.

Cohen (thinking): I don’t know if that was a cunning strategic move, or the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.

Either it could work, and I need to sober up and figure out how . . . or it’s doomed to blow up in my face, and I need to stock up on bourbon.

Offscreen voice: You just let her walk out of here?

Cohen: I don’t know what you mean.

Offscreen voice: Don’t play stupid. This guy left the building earlier. Dark hair, glasses . . . Either important, or wanting to look like he’s important.
