Annotated Chapter 5 Cover – Miranda Rites

There are a couple of “this is too good a pun not to use” chapter titles that I sat on from the very beginning of the comic, and the play on “Miranda rights” was one of them.
Updated cover is an homage to a lovely piece of Pet Shop of Horrors splash art. (I know, I know, that’s redundant, they’re all lovely.)
The original had the first confirmed appearance of Poe’s human form…well, the arm, at least. And there’s a Cool Floaty Pose thing going on, but ultimately I think it makes Miranda look too passive — like she’s someone who gets swept away by magic, instead of taking a stand and directing it.
Is it just me or is her skin a lot lighter here?
The whole picture has a lightening texture filter, not just her skin. I think it’s most obvious on Poe’s feathers.
I love the subtle feather pattern on Miranda’s dress!
Oh are you where I heard about pet shop of horrors? I really enjoyed that, reread it a bunch.
