Namibian family with babyThe “kid” form is such a default for Cybele that, even when Bennett isn’t there, she only switches out of it for Serious Emergencies. Such as the need to reach something in a high cupboard.

Her long, wrapped-up hair twists in “adult” form were specifically snagged from the 2010 documentary Babies, where the mother of the Namibian baby wore something similar. Lots of little twists in that version, though. Cybele gets two big bundles of them, to keep emphasizing the rabbit-ears theme.

Cybele (humming, then thinking): Dum de dum dum dum . . .

I have enough to make cookies! Master will be so happy. “Oh, Cybele, cookies? How did you know?” he’ll say. And I’ll say “Because everybody likes cookies!”

All I need now is a bowl to mix things in . . .
