The reference for the background here came from a club in Barcelona. Because it looked cool, not because I want to imply Miranda and co. have ditched the US.
Miranda’s friends, again, have non-generic designs that I genuinely like — and they even got a tag! — but no names. Overall, I didn’t put a lot of backstory work into “main BICP characters having friends outside the sphere of other main BICP characters.”
At a club where the music is loud, the drinks keep coming, and nobody knows your name . . .
Bartender: Aren’t you a little old for this scene, pal?
Poe: You’re only as old as you feel! Now can I get a couple of those little umbrellas?
(WHOOSH)
(Music: THUMP-A THUMP-A THUMP-A)
Poe: Careful! You could have knocked me over!
Miranda’s Friend #1: Awright! More drinks!
Miranda’s Friend #2: I wish my boyfriend was 21.
Friend #1: I wish I had a boyfriend.
Hey, Miranda, if you ever get bored with Poe, can I have him?
Friend #2: You can’t just ask something like that!
Miranda: Don’t hold your breath. I am never, ever giving him up.
Friends: Aww! So romantic!
Hey, who’s that bartender, anyway? I mean, looking at them now, I guess the colored hair is probably just for fun, but it was really confusing me for a minute there. I thought, oh, it’s the colored hair of plot significance, but I don’t recognize that person, who is that? And then based on the color I wondered if it was Kara Lynn?? But no Being-font, and anyway it wouldn’t make sense for her to be here. I guess I just read into it too much, lol.
The colored hair is just for fun! I also color green things in BICP (plants, accessories, etc), so once in a while I figure it should apply to a person with green hair.
