Utena and Anthy lying on grassI still really like that minimalist pastoral scene in the dream sequence.

In the original upload, it used the typical “greyscale + greens + spot-colors of plot significance” color scheme. In the remaster, I decided that didn’t look dream-y/otherworldly enough, and slapped a tinted “screen” layer over the whole thing. (It’s a dull red/purple — the color of the shadows I use on Kara Lynn’s hair in daylight scenes.)

Poe: There wasn’t much to “fall for” . . . most of what I told her was the truth. You can still change your plans. Make it all basically true.

Bianca’s a pacifist. She’d probably be happy to start fresh. The roommate’s more suspicious, but I think she could be brought around. She sort of reminds me of you, actually . . .

Miranda: This just proves that Bianca’s too naive to give Patrick the protection he deserves.

We go forward as planned. Maybe that will be the wake-up call she needs.

Everyone starts out as a pacifist and an optimist. All it means is that nothing bad enough has happened to her yet.

(Meanwhile, five hours ahead: Speaking of bad things . . . )

(This isn’t the bad thing.)

Jany (thinking): . . . . Is there someone at the door?
