Karen Park: Of course! Satisfying as it is to have Cub be quiet while looking like he does . . . I’m still practical about it. For instance, he can say things like “Duck!” to warn me if I’m in immediate physical danger.

. . . but if there’s a non-verbal way for him to protect me, he has to do that first.
