Thumbnails aren’t really part of my comic-making process. I just do a full-size sketch, and then make revisions on top of that until it’s ready for inking.

Except in this chapter, where I knew these 4 pages needed to flow smoothly together. I also knew there was no way I’d finish two weeks’ worth of full-size pages ahead of time.

So I made quarter-size thumbnails, all four on one page, and worked from there. You can see how the basic content is the same, even though the panel layouts and shot compositions got changed a bunch to make it flow better.
