Chapter 24 p11 – And this one was made for the People’s Liberation Front of Judea
Sparrow: No! It’s not like that!
. . . Well, maybe technically it is like that. For you. Specifically.
Listen . . . we do think most Beings were created to be protectors. Of a family, or a town, or some important site. Which makes sense, if my people made you . . . We kinda tend to need a lot of protecting.
It would explain why fighting feels so important to you. But that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing you could be made for.
And we know, because we’ve seen at least one Being whose code was built from the ground up . . .
. . . with no reference to fighting at all.
Luthien (Hebrew): [ Got the suitcase, boss! Any interesting mail come in while we were in airplane mode? ]
The Humvee of Beings if you will.
Oh, wizard! So Josh did manage to Build a Better Being. I wonder what this does to Ann’s little theory of the Revelation. (Though since the main characters are very intelligent, I doubt they’ve let her know even the slightest thing about that.)
Doesn’t that really depend on how you define if a being is better or not?
Come to think of it, being combat never really came up during the Bible Flashback, for lack of something better to call it. At the time I figured it was just because like, relevant scenes and stuff, Being Dimension Fighting is probably not important to the Bible, but thinking back, that seems like something that would probably have been important to bring up if it had happened. Like the only other being we saw in that flashback was the Dove for like five seconds and a few others for even shorter in like a single panel, and Josh never said anything about fighting while explaining them to Mary…
I as well wanted to see AU!Jesus fighting with supernatural mon, but it seems that omission was intentional.
Good catch.
Ooh, interesting.
