Bennett (thinking): Success! I’m getting a chance to see Cybele. Now I just need to think of a clever plan!
. . .
This is going to take a lot of thinking.
Back in the heart of the storm . . .
Bianca: What were you thinking?!
Patrick: I’m sorry! I’m really sorry! . . . Which part did I do wrong?
Bianca: If your last Master owns the bank account, he can see all the withdrawals you make. Including the locations of the ATMs! He could look up exactly what neighborhood we’re in any time. He might have done it already!
Patrick: Oh. Ohhhh.
Trackable generosity – gotta love it.
Uhm… considering that Patrick is in this situation because of something his master did…. perhaps cast Patrick out? (not sure), I’m not sure why he would need to be worried.
As far as I can tell it was a random coincidence that Patrick met his current owner. Thus they’re unlikely to be targets. Hence if his former master wanted to do something…wouldn’t he have done something already?
…or…maybe he gets off on being a stalker? Teh boats are a’floatin
Based on what we’ve seen (as opposed to anything Patrick may have reveled off camera), we’ve established that Patrick was traumatized by his last Master and his daughter Miranda is none too stable. The last bit collaborated by the ruse Poe has put into play.
I don’t blame Bianca at all if she’d rather keep her distance from them.
There is also the small matter of how Pat got out of the contract without his previous Master dying first, and whether said (wretched human being, just as a reminder) might be able to force puppy back into servitude under him now.
The point that “he hasn’t yet” hasn’t sunk in yet – remember, she just found all this out, logic is a bit much to expect, and the mutt didn’t know. Conversely, there is a good reason to wait – prep to reverse whatever process let Pat get out of his previous Contract, including a lot of research.
the return to servitude might be difficult now that Patrick has a new contract, one contract seldom has a clause in it to allow breaking a new contract, especially if the first contract was dissolved, even if it has a reaffirmation of contractual obligations these seldom can be held if a new contract of the same nature with a new party is obtained. This might require a higher court to intervene to pass judgment on the case
which in the context of this comic would be interesting to see.
on a cheerier note, Patrick’s rocking that scruffy hairdo.
Bennett, you’re so stupid… and so is Patrick. (And I say this with the greatest affection.)
