Miranda: If you think you’re good enough to be his Master . . .
(SNAP)
. . . then let’s see you prove it. Challenge me.
Bianca: He doesn’t have to fight any more! I don’t care about the Game. We’re not playing!
(CLICK)
Bianca: …?!
Poe: Hey there.
Bianca: Poe!! What are you doing here?
Poe: Look, Bianca . . . You seem nice, all right?
Duhn, Dun Dun!!! The secret revealed!! Bianca’s will of Flame!!!
Yeah i watch way to much anime… Anyway @ Erin, if you are challenged to a fight by another being’s master, do you HAVE to accept?
That’ll be explored over the next couple of pages, don’t worry!
Okay, new question for the Being Q&A page, forget the legalities of ownership, aren’t there any laws relating to the Game itself?!
What Beings do to each other is seen as their own affair. Governments stay out of it.
Forget the ownership, I’m talking about the owners!
I think Flyboy means things like “If a Master ordering a Being to commit a crime (break into a jewelry store and take all the display rings), would the Master risk prosecution?”
OR
If a Master gives an non-specific order (Find person X) and the Being carries it out in a way that results in a crime (Person X found by hacking the DMV), how liable is the Master?
OR
Issues relating to illegalities/troubles that might occur during the process of the Game – like when the Bunny busted into the nightclub to make the challenge to the Cat, if a door had been broken, would the Master have to pay for the replacement, and if the Bunny caused significant distress (like someone in the club having accute Lagaphobia and thus suffering a heart attack when the Bunny arrives), could the Master be sued for trauma?
I’m assuming the Being is never blamed or punished directly, in the same way you don’t put a hammer on trial, or sue a faulty ladder, but instead go after the wielder and corporate entity involved.
Again, no, though that is very in-depth, Rippy.
I’m talking about what Miranda is doing right now. Something about what she’s doing just strikes me as illegal. Hey, maybe I’m wrong and everything she did is perfectly legal in how she’s trapped Bianca in an empty theater under false pretenses, but I’m just wondering what the hell the police and judge would say if Bianca took this to court.
She hasn’t technically done anything wrong yet. If she hurt Bianca directly, that could go to court; but the only harm so far that’s been done is to Patrick, who has no legal protection.
Your assumption is correct — the Being is treated as a tool, and the Master is legally liable for any bad things that result from a Being’s use.
I’m surprised Bianca didn’t make a Yugioh reference here: “It’s time to DUEL!”
Nah, she’s Team Rocket.
So…she should either be crossdressing along with Pat, or saying “Screw the rules, I have money?”
