Not-yet-Patrick:
Können Sie mir helfen? [Can you help me? /German]
Cohen (thinking): Well, here’s the $64,000 question: is he a serious polyglot, or just a schizophrenic?
Cohen: ?אני יכול לעזור לך [Can I help you? /Hebrew]
Not-yet-Patrick: [mysterious text]
Cohen: All right, stop me if this is crazy . . . But you aren’t by any chance an immortal shapeshifter who just might be between human Masters, are you?
Not-yet-Patrick: …Cold. So cold.
Give the man a prize! You’ve won a Being!
Any way to exchange that for what’s behind door #1?
Sorry, the Goat already has a master at the moment!
I love this comment chain.
I thought they didn’t care about cold.
…
Which means he’s talking about something else, isn’t he.
Bingo.
what a prettyboy.
This is a very minor point to bring up, but: The Hebrew verse in panel 1 has the cantillation marks used in chanting the torah during the weekly reading. Was this intentional — that is, are we supposed to infer that Patrick is not just saying the words, but chanting them — or a side effect of copy-paste?
It was an unwitting copy-paste effect…but now that I know, I’m retroactively declaring that yes, pre!Patrick is chanting.
Is Patrick religious? Because he’s talking about “you and me and G-d” in the first panel.
