Cohen: Ugh . . . I think that might have overwritten the needing-to-battle clause? Maybe? And you’re still responsive this time. Right? Say something.
Patrick: It’s okay, Master, really! You don’t have to make so much effort over a few bruises! And a couple of cuts. And one or two very minor claw-gouges.
Cohen: I’ll make whatever effort I feel like.
Patrick: Yes, sir.
Patrick (present): He was sort of slurring by this point. I might not have understood everything . . .
Cohen (flashback): . . . find a way to reach th’ chamber of Guf if I have to . . .
Bad Cohen! No biscuit!
Hold on now, as a man knowledgeable in Drunkeneese I think Cohen is talking about something foreshadowing. I propose we hold judgement until we see what happens next.
We know what happens next, this is a flash back, he screws up royal, breaks his contract, and somehow leaves Patrick in a gutter where we started at the start of the comic.
If so, he’s going to have to recompile Pat first. The irony that the Dog is trying to comfort Cohen, while half is tablet’d body is strewn across the floor…you try comforting someone while disemboweled!

Something that immediately jumped out at me from that page:
“the trees are resting places for souls and sparrows can see the soul’s descent”
and we are back to thinking that Sparrow is a humunculas made either by her mother or for her mother because she couldn’t have a child naturally.
Drunken coding is the -worst- kind of coding, Cohen. You should know better! You don’t even have a rubber ducky to yell at when things go wrong.
If you learned anything from Evangelion, it’s that messing with anything ancient biblical ends badly.
