Raven: Found him.
Woman: Took you long enough.
Raven: At least you had a good book.
Woman: Ehh. I saw all the twists coming. I take it he’s settled down somewhere for the night?
Raven: Two young women appear to have taken him in. I don’t think they know what he is.
Woman: Did you get their address?
Raven: Of course. …Master?
Woman: Hm?
Raven: Are you going to tell your father about this?
Woman: Not on your life.
Every time I leave this comic alone I end up re-reading it from the start. I remember the general shape of the plot from the previous time, but sooner or later I run into a reference to a past event I don’t recognize, and I go looking, and I end up starting from the beginning.
And every time I re-read it, I notice that more and more bits of the stuff that doesn’t matter in the context of the plot so far is actually relevant in the context of the plot that comes later.
I am continually impressed with the degree of planning put into this story and the skill with which the foreshadowing and worldbuilding have been disseminated while still hiding their true importance. That is one of my favorite things to see in a story and you have done a fantastic job with it here.
(To keep future readers from using this comment to inform their guesses about what info they should pay attention to, I’ve put it on a different page from the one that prompted me to make it. :P)
Well, now *I’m* trying to guess what prompted you to make it! (Maybe you can talk about it on the page where the foreshadowing you noticed comes to fruition…?)
