Sparrow: Urgh . . . must . . . get . . . laundry . . .
(KNOCK KNOCK)
She’s early?!
Patrick: Grrr . . .
Sparrow: Patrick! Quick, change back to dog form! And quit growling at my–
Poe: *KNOCK KNOCK*
Sparrow: –mom?
Whoa! What do we do? How does he know you’re here? Do we run? CAN we run?
Patrick: I can take him on again.
Sparrow: NO! Bianca will be VERY sad if you get hurt!
Poe: I’m not here to fight. My Master isn’t with me. I only want to talk to Patrick.
Sparrow: Do you mind? We’re trying to have a discussion in here!
So Poe’s decided to talk to Patrick to see if the two Beings can work around Miranda’s issues. Why do I think she won’t take that very well?
I find it interesting that Poe can’t fight without Miranda but Patrick can without Bianca. I guess it’s another part to the mystery of Sparrow?
I don’t think its “can’t” so much as “doesn’t want to.” Poe’s always seemed easier going than Pat.
I read “My owner isn’t with me” is a separate (but connected) thought from “I’m not here to fight,” and I read it as Poe trying to calm Sparrow down. More “Person who could suddenly tell me to fight isn’t here” then “I can’t throw a punch right now because she’s not around.”
I agree with Rippy.
Hmmmm. This is being three acting on it’s own accord. Going by the “program” analogy, there’s a few more bugs in this system than originally thought.
or they have more flexibility than people give them credit for (or Pat happens to be most OCD about having orders compared to other Beings, which leaves us with a skewed data set, given all of his screen time). I’m just waiting for some Being to drop the bombshell that a Being has gotten their Owner killed by being an intentional literal genie in one fashion or another.
I am not convinved that Poe is on the up-and-up. Miranda is a schemer, after all, and Beings are not allowed to go against their contractor’s orders in even the slightest…
