She didn’t want to watch Emir die, but she was desperate not to lose Alvah. That’s how I know that nothing short of death can sever a Being’s contract. If there had been any way to break that bond and leave her Master alive, she would have taken it.

Being (offscreen): Timothy.
Lily: “So, uh, my contract just expired. Want to renew? I can offer some great incentives.”
Tim: “Why do you sound like a used car salesman?”
Lily: “Sorry, still shaking off all that religion.”
I hope Lily fled before they decided to let the kids try the blood. O.O
