Chapter Three Page 2
What kind of person, indeed.
Cybele: hm hmm hm hmmm . . .
. . . time to try defying gravity . . .
(tap tap)
Just you an’ I, defying . . .
Nevada-san (offscreen): Cybele! Get away from the window!
Cybele: Coming!
Nevada-san (offscreen): What have I told you about that, huh?
Cybele: You said not to let anyone see me. But there was nobody around to see.
Nevada-san (offscreen): Well, from now on, keep away from the windows all the time.
Cybele: Yes, Master.
Nevada-san (offscreen): And stop calling me “Master”! Do I have to explain about political correctness again?
Interesting picture in the background. A short black woman in a wedding veil, Beings ability to change their appearance… Hmm…. Inter-species marriage?
Excellent catch. The picture is significant, and that’s all I’ll say =)
That is probably the bunny, I’m guessing.
Not that I much care at this stage. This whole thing is getting more than a tad confusing now. And I still find myself wondering why everyone has grey skin.
“You said not to let anyone see me. But there was nobody around to see.”
The obvious method of knowing whether anyone’s around to see is looking out the window. But if someone is around, then being near enough to the window to see them is in violation of orders.
So to go near the window without risking violation, Cybele has to be able to tell in advance whether anyone is around to see.
That’s interesting.
I’m re-reading this chapter and this is a FASCINATING observation. Can beings detect humans’ locations without seeing them?
