Bianca: I . . . I can see where you’re coming from. I do! It’s . . . It’s been less than three years since my father died. And it doesn’t stop hurting. I know. I think about him every day.
So I understand why you’re doing this! And maybe . . .
Maybe you’ve got a point. I keep messing up as a Master anyway. I don’t live up to half the things I talk about.
M-maybe I don’t deserve to be . . .
It’s great that Bianca’s taking the high road and seeking a common bond with Miranda. And maybe if I tell myself that enough times, I will come to believe it.
Patrick sure didn’t seek Miranda out after her father severed ties. I keep getting stuck on that. And the whole beat the shit out of Patrick to prove you’re a bad Master Bianca episode.
Yeah, I completely agree with you. As much as I like Miranda, she keeps making the wrong decisions. She’s like one of my friends, nobody can make him change his mind and sometimes he can really hurt the ones around him.
Bianca, stand your ground and prove you’re a worthy Master !
It’s not about being a worthy Master; it’s about being a good companion.
I was talking about Miranda’s point of view. Bianca must prove herself a worthy Master, someone worth Miranda’s respect and trust. She must show she has the nerves to actually “own” Patrick, for Patrick’s sake. The empathy Bianca showed did touch Miranda, creating a breach in Miranda’s plan. Now, Bianca has to act wisely and not look like she’s weak.
Beings have rules, and at least for now, to truly be a good companion for them, their Masters have to act like Masters. Not doing so, as we saw with Kara Lynn, can have desastrous results.
Now, quite a bit of Masters are currently trying to change those rules, and if they happen to succeed, that may change. We shall see.
Yeah, Mandy having Poe curbstomp Patrick is all sorts of messed up. “Here, let me show you how much I love Patrick by having Poe beat the crap out of him!” And then she makes the “smart pet” argument. So does she truly love Patrick as a sentient being and she’s just trying to justify her actions with the Beings=Things spiel, or does she truly consider Patrick only a thing and only wants back her property?
Sparrow needs to step in on that, stat!
Yup. Pretty sure that’s Sparrow watching right there. I was pretty sure she was going to be there about a page or 2 after she started with the incantation.
aw, Bianca! well done working the information about her father smoothly into the story thus. i thought he was maybe sick or something.
