(SHAKE SHAKE)
Bianca: Don’t be afraid, Patrick! I’m just trying to think about what’s best for you.
(STEP)
Bianca: I know you can’t be objective about this, but please trust that I’m not going to do anything that hurts —
(LEAN)
Sparrow: Nobody’s doing anything at all!!
(GRAB!)
Miranda: How the hell did you get here?
(BLUFF!)
Sparrow: Hate to break it to you, sister, but you’re not the only one who can use magic! Now lift the order on Patrick, or suffer the consequences!
True to what I said earlier, I am laughing like a loon right now. My coworkers are even looking at me. Go Sparrow!
But I don’t think anybody ever come up with Sparrow’s Wiccan heritage as a theory for her unusual abilities. I doubt it is, but I’m all for using it to give Miranda a head trip.
Will you settle for a headlock?
I’m all for respecting Beings and treating them right, but what is right for them? From what we have seen so far, smart pets / computer programs with intuition is exactly what they are. How Patrick parted with his past master seems crucial here. Could he have left against his master’s will? And what was the atrocity his old master did to him? What could have bothered him so when prostituting himself wouldn’t? If his master beat him or told him to hurt himself physically, wouldn’t he be happy to obey? I still think his old master told him to go and that was the cruel thing he made him do.
GO SPARROW!
Ahem.
tehanu, I agree with you that ‘what is best’ is far from clear or cut and dried. I’m curious to find out what those answers are, in fact! That said (and I am by no means implying anything about your take on this, it’s just a natural leaping-off place) I agree wholeheartedly with Sparrow’s interruption. Mandy’s high-handed attempt to take over the entire thing while playing on Bianca’s emotions isn’t the right way to go about it.
(Now I have mental images of a legal custody hearing…)
BLUFF is now in my top ten comic sound effects.
Yeah, I got a kick out of that too.
SPARROW TO THE RESCUE!
The ‘Bluff’ effect was hilarious.
