Happy eighth anniversary to But I’m A Cat Person!
According to gift-card companies, the 8th is the “bronze” or “lace” anniversary. So I put our main (human) characters in thematically-appropriate outfits.

This is interesting … did you just wing it, or is this how the numbers are signed in some version of sign language? It’s not American or British sign language.
It’s chisanbop. I was taught it in grade school – we used to call it chicken burp. ;)
(Although properly speaking, with chisanbop the ‘ones’ are done with the right hand and the ‘tens’ with the left, so we’ve actually got “1…2…30…40…5”, but that’s fine. ;))
As long as the person doing the counting is internally consistent, I figure that’s the important thing! So I switched it up in the art, for aesthetic =)
I was surprised to see Timothy holding up her ring finger with her pinkie finger folded completely down. It’s impossible for me to do that, but I looked it up and apparently other people can learn it with practice? The example of practice I kept seeing was piano practice, so this leads me to headcanoning that Timothy can play piano :)
It’s a lot easier if you hold your thumb in front of the fingers, instead of trying to stick it out to the side!
